Success!

Just heard from John and Kathy! Jamie's in recovery now. Dr. Goff got all the cancer—hysterectomy, the large tumor, some from the omentum, two more swollen groin lymph glands (another from the left - where she had the biopsy, and one from the right), and resectioned the bowel (which just means that she will be in the hospital for a full week of recovery). But, they got it all. And, they'll be starting her chemo as soon as she's recovered enough to begin.

John also says that Dr. Goff confirmed that it was stage 3 ovarian cancer, but saw no "path of progression" up through Jamie's body, so it hadn't spread above the diaphram, and there was nothing on the liver. Very, very excellent news.

Now I'm going to go say some prayers of thanks—Amen and Hallelujah!!

Oh Jamie, Jamie, Jamie, what a relief. It sounds like the best scenario played out. I know your recovery will be long after this major step so please ask for what ever you need. There isn't anything that you could ask for that would be too much. You know the saying "The world doesn't revolve around you." well guess what...right now, the world IS revolving around you, you deserve it!

Rest, rest, rest, let us know when you are up for visitors! Tell Dr.Goff that we all love her!
Oh, and I made some no-bakes tonight!

Jamie, We're soooo glad you're done with this great big first hurdle and that surgery went well. Rest up and marshal your strentgh one day at a time. I'm a firm believer of good get well thought vibes . . . Man, are you getting bombarded! See you soon.

John, go out and have a stiff drink and toast to Jamie's swift recovery so she'll be strong again for the next steps. Please send us some more guidelines for food for recovery. Any dietary no-no's due to the bowel sectioning?

Jamie and John,
I am breathing easier now after hearing the good news. I want you to know the neighborhood gang (Katelyn, Eloiuse, Will, Joey, Oliver, Larson, Andy, Jody, Christine and I) all had apple cider/wine toast, to your successful surgery and to good health. The kids continued to celebrate with a mud bath in their swimming suits. Sounds silly I know, but it felt like a good way to celebrate. We love both of you and we can't wait to see you!
Love,
Jen, Nick, Katelyn, and Soren

Jamie and John,
As Don would say "Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition." Looks like Dr. Goff had the right ammunition today. We're all breathing a sigh of relief that this step is over. Take care, God Bless and sleep tight.
Love, Judy and Don
