Go Team!!

There's another 2.5 hours of the Relay left to go, but here are a few photos from last night and earlier today.

A huge thank you to all the supporters of Jamie's Team — at last count, the fundraising total is up to more than $3,000.00!! And, Kenny had fired up the grill (lunch by donation and he did dinners by donation last night too... $300.) and, Katie fired up the kids bouncy house for $1 donations as well this morning, while the McL grandkids were out in the infield promoting the team's carnival games.

Brian was finishing lap #176 when we left, with only 24 more laps to go in his goal of 200. Yes, that's 50 miles, folks!! And, we had warm (if muggy) weather and no rain drops. An excellent event. Looking forward to seeing the final team total for donations to the ACS.

If you wanted to donate, but didn't get a chance yet, just click right here to do it quickly online. Thank you!!

Thanks to everyone for participating! I couldn't have asked for a finer team. Brian Stoll is absolutely amazing!! Brian walked 200 laps with the second to the last followed by the Seahawks Blue Thunder escorting him around!! Brian was the only "survivor" to walk that far--Way to Go Brian, you are a super stud! I hope next year to try to keep up with you. Austin Lindsay is also a super stud. He walked most of the night collecting beads as he went, keeping up with all the adults, if not passing them. Thank you so much to Jennifer Nichols for the amazing baton. It has to be one of my favorite things. You put so much time and thought into painting it, it is a work of art. I was so proud to have carried it around the track! I was also excited to see Shanan, Joyce and Shanan's great daughters. I know I am forgeting to thank so many more of you, problem is, I can't think straight at the moment and need some sleep. It's amazing to me what can bring old friends together. Thanks to everyone who helped raise funds and to those who donated. The Central Pierce Relay for life group raised over $38,000 the 24 hours we were there. I think a fun time was had by all. I hope we can all partake again next year!! (I probably should have posted, but I don't have any pictures myself to post, so I wanted to keep Katrina's great photos up for all to see)

What an amazing event!!! We had a blast and were happy to spend it with old friends as well as new friends. Jamie...you are truly amazing. Look at all you have been through over the past year, and you were unstoppable by walking over 20 miles. Way to go Jamie!

Hey Guys, Thanks for such a great time. Sorry Austin and I left early, but he was a little worn out and was ready to go home. He finished his fiftieth lap around 8 AM and said he will be back next year to do at least 60. We have sent out e-mails to all of his accounts and are getting all of our pledges turned in. Will keep you posted on the amount. I also have some pictures that I will try and forward to tomorrow...and if not, I will make a cd and get them to the McLaughlins. Everyone was awesome!

Thanks to all of you for making our relay team such a success! I know the Stoll family had a great time! Brian will be walking funny for a few days, but I don't think he did any permanent damage ;-)!

I thought it was really nice to spend time with Jamie and her friends & family and to share our happiness in Jamie's good health! She is amazing!

I have uploaded our photos to an online gallery that can be viewed at the link below...

What a great time! Abby, Kristen and I could have stayed all night (although Abby did crash the moment we hit the road)! I especially loved hanging out with all of Jamie's wonderful supporters, throwing money around freely at all the tents buying goodies knowing that it was for a great cause, doing laps in the dark (during the luminaria ceremony) with glow sticks, and best of all....seeing Jamie's bright smiling face beaming the entire time! Oh, and it was my pleasure, my honor, to paint the baton for you Jamie!

We had such a blast! The kids loved the games and displays, and of course, loved winning the cake walk! The luminaria ceremony was very moving. But the most inspirational thing I've heard is that Jamie walked over 20 miles! I've said it before and I'll say it again... YOU GO GIRL!!!
