True Blue (Tarp, that is...)

Another camping adventure—NW style—a little overcast, some rain, a nice blue tarp and a big, big fire. It's not supposed to be quite so wet in Sequim, but that's OK. On Saturday, we enjoyed some wine tasting at the Olympic Cellars Harvest Party and Grape Stomp, bought wine and had two great days of camping. A good late-summer adventure, and Jamie was doing great.

Belgian waffles for breakfast...
A proper fire—John's style. Shorty hangin' in the trailer. The best dog ever!

Sounds like the Woods and the Crases had a wonderful weekend despite the wet weather. I heard none of you actually stomped on the grapes, but did you get plenty of wine to taste?

Shorty looked happy to be included in your camping weekend. I'm sure he was excited to play with Madeline and Eric.

I thought you may be interested to know that I saw Gardening with Cisco guy at the Fishtale Brew House on Saturday night. I couldn't believe it, I actually like watching him on T.V> because he has so much energy and enthusiasm:) Actually it was quite wierd because not only did I see him, but I recognized a professor I had over a year ago, he remembered me too. I felt like Olympia was just hopping with people this weekend. Maybe it is always hopping, and I am a hermit that never gets out??

Take care and have a great Monday, we love you!!

Good work Jamie! Glad you were able to get out and enjoy the fabulous weather this weekend. Wilson and I would like to come by for a visit this weekend whenever you are up for it! Wilson's sniffles are gone, so he's bringing hugs and kisses with him.

P.S. Can I make a special request to the blog goddess for a photo of you in your new hat? You look so great wearing it that all of your loyal readers deserve to see you in it! Plus it has such a cool story behind it, it is worth sharing. :)

I can't believe this, Dick and I took a ride around the penninsula this weekend. We left Bham on Friday morning and spent the night in Port Angeles. Rode up to Hurrican Ridge on Friday Afternoon. Then on Sunday we rode around Cresent Lake making the loop back to Port Angeles, than back to the ferry at Port Townsend. We rode right through Sequim, BigBadBikers that we are. I can't believe we missed the opportunity to see you both. You both look and sound great. Did you stop at Fat Smittys for the Fat Smitty's burger. We did, or rather Dick had one. That is a huge burger. Next time we drive south we will call first. We would love to get together!!!!

John & Jamie -- We're so glad you got out for the weekend. Sounds like it was fun. Those waffles looked top notch (that's camping fare?) Loved your fire-building skills, John. How high did the flames shoot? There's a pyro in many of us!

Katrina -- Thanks for the post and the great pictures!

Jamie, that looks like so much fun (assuming you are prepared for the weather)! Sorry I haven't been commenting much lately but I have been checking the blog as frequently as ever. It is great to hear how you are doing. Keep up the good work! You are such an inspiration.

Jamie- It was great to see you tonight. You look so good. I was glad to hear you are back swimming now that the pool is open. I am jealous you can go during the day...I will have to go and check it out this weekend or some time after work. Thanks for watching Katelyn so I could go to parent night at her school. Have a fabulous Friday! Go up to Ralphs and buy yourself a latte:)

Jennifer
P.S. Katelyn loved playing with Shorty, what a great dog.
